Saturn in Scorpio October 5th 2012 December 24th

Themes for all signs to watch:

The planet known as “The Lord of Karma” is visiting the sign of Scorpio once again, after almost 30 years since being in this sign. Collectively this means we are all working through the issues of Scorpio, a sign associated with a number of unpleasant qualities. This does mean that persons born under this sign are unpleasant, merely that they more willing to look below the surface of things in order to fully understand the complete truth. Consequently, they extract an understanding of death by reading horror stories, or find detective mysteries compelling. In order to do this a Scorpio learns the importance of facing fear, and almost always discovers that fear itself is a master to its slave…something Scorpio would rather not oblige. In this process Scorpio learns how to empower itself, by not allowing outside forces/influences to exert control.
Collectively we are living this message now, and have been since October 2012. Fear comes in many shades and varieties, depending on each individual. Money is another issue associated with Scorpio, and perhaps out of necessity we depend on others in some way. This can breed resentment and anger for some, which is another Scorpio issue. In this case dealing with resentment and anger becomes the purpose of the energy. Death and dying is yet another Scorpio issue; and an awareness of death can change a person profoundly.
We all possess good qualities, and yet we don’t want to acknowledge or embrace the so called bad ones. Consider the case of a caregiver, who under daily and unrelenting stress, finds a “less than kind” thought targeted towards the one that is ill. Almost immediately the thought is revoked, but the caregiver is now left feeling guilty. In truth this situation is completely understandable, and we have compassion for the caregiver. But the caregiver must acknowledge that they are human and prone to “not so nice” thoughts on occasion. It’s part of the process that makes us human.
Saturn in Scorpio affects the world of business too. Money is what drives the world, and upon entering this sign the markets began to show progress.
Scorpio is also a sign of secrecy, which the Edward Snowden case is a perfect example. Just what are powerful forces trying to keep from us? Banks are also influenced by this sign, and “behind closed doors” are dealings that we are not even aware of yet. However there’s a lot more to come, as Saturn is all about accountability.
Saturn transiting the: (keep in mind the length of time listed above)
1st House or Scorpio Sun: You have recently realized the importance of “you” and feeling like you are getting old. In our youth drive culture this may feel depressing at times, which is more an illusion than truth. You are being asked to take a mature view and to implement a course of action, which means at least one new beginning. Health matters could also need attention, and typical examples include dental work and general checkups.
2nd House or Libra Sun: This is the area of earned income, and this means working with money more frugally rather than through excessive spending. The underlying issue with this region has to do with core values, and they are in the process of changing. What may have been important at age 30 may no longer be at age 60. In turn this impacts your attitude towards money, leading to changes that affect income too. Self worth issues are also brought out, and if there’s work to do then get on with doing it.
3rdHouse or Virgo Sun: Attitudes and opinions get evaluated now, and it may be time to let some of them go to pasture. The prospect of learning something new is also possible, but any activity that fires up the brain cells will do. Communication of all kinds are being activated, whether one on one or more outwardly in the world. Saturn in this position teaches us that “thoughts are things” and if we like the way our life is running then great. If not what do you need to do to change things?
4th House or Leo Sun: Family and home are the issues that require your focus, and you may take on more responsibility in the process. Real estate matters are also featured, which could mean moving and/or fixing up an existing dwelling. Parental issues are another idea, which could affect becoming a parent or dealing with a biological parent. Building upon your security is important, as is growing up emotionally.
5th House or Cancer Sun: What is your definition of love? For some in comes in the form of a new born baby, and for others in a romantic experience. Either way your attitude to love is serious, and finding time to be silly and carefree may elude you now. Down deep this placement of Saturn reflects on you and who you are, and getting recognition from others depends on your integrity and willingness to pay your dues. Fun times will return after you “show them what you got”.
6thHouse or Gemini Sun: Have you lost that loving feeling towards your work? If so Saturn will nudge you like an itch that won’t go away until you take steps to change things. You crave passion in what you do, whether you get paid for it or not. Eventually this leads to changes in jobs, and for some a change in careers. Matters connected to diet and health also get activated, allowing you to be disciplined enough to drop old habits or to develop new ones.
7thHouse or Taurus Sun: Singletons could well meet their soul mate with Saturn here, and in that case handing over the heart is nothing compared to handing over your soul. These relationships start off on a serious note, and lead to major decisions, usually within a year of meeting. Committed individuals have partnerships issues to consider, and if relatively happy and content, then the focus shifts to the spouse who encounters a Saturn event that in turn affects you. Stressed relationships will get a wake-up call to solve problems, and if both are committed success is usually achieved. But it will feel like work!
8thHouse or Aries Sun: What controls you? Is it the bills you owe, or the unhealthy habit that you secretly wish you could conquer? Whatever it is you will get the opportunity to come face to face with it, and with this comes experiencing extreme feelings that you want to keep private. At times you could feel obsessed and out of control, and eventually you realize that asking for help is all that it takes. When that moment does come, heaven help anyone that tries to stop you. You are on a mission, and you WILL succeed. You are
empowered!
9th House or Pisces Sun:  So, what’s in your future? Saturn located here will send signs of what lies ahead, and this triggers AMBITION. Working hard almost feels good, as the pay off that lies ahead is what you have dreamed about. This may require you to travel and/or learn, perhaps through new programs and/or skills that add to your abilities. Legal matters may be hindered, or take longer to get resolved if started at this time.
10thHouse or Aquarius Sun: Report card time! Do you like what you are doing professionally? If not then it’s up to you to change things. However if you are satisfied with the direction things are going then you could be up for a promotion. Added responsibilities are a sign of “climbing the corporate ladder”, which is an excellent example of Saturn in this region. Did it fall into your lap? Of course not! You have been working towards this for years. Matters tied to parents are another consideration, as is a change in your public identity.
111th House or Capricorn Sun: Do you have a dream or a wish? If so, you may see it come true, but usually in cases where one has been specific with details. Financially things may be looking better after all the hard work you have been putting out, and now you are driven towards supporting a worthy cause. In some cases you may even be asked to take a leadership position within a group. Friendships are under review, and one may fade out after many years of knowing each other.
12thHouse or Sagittarius Sun: Time to do God’s work! More likely this means getting in touch with spiritual teachings and getting real about where things stand. You may be disturbed by the idea that you feel divinely unsupported, but later learn that it was you that needed to “freshen up” spiritually speaking. This is a period of “releasing and letting go”, and you may not be in a position to change the outcome of things. Instead you may be a bystander that offers compassion when needed.
