Capricorn New Moon on New Year's Day

New Moon alert! The New Moon in Capricorn (10 degrees) takes place on New Year's Day and holds hands with Pluto and Mercury, and this suggests there will be a HUGE event that gets tongues wagging! Mars also joins in acting as a trigger for creating an event that could happen really fast, and possibly connected to accidents and/or "heat" (explosives). This New Moon activates the USA's region of foreign lands, as well as legal matters. Pay attention to court rulings in the month of January. Houses of money are also lit up for the USA, so expect to see extreme swings in the financial markets, and the best advice would be to stay calm and not take risks. Mars does activate the USA's chart rather strongly, and although foreign lands are indicated, nonetheless we are likely to have an "at home" event that rattles our headlines. Mars crosses 9 degrees of Libra

Over the past 24 hours Mars crossed over the degree it will turn direct at on May 19th 2014. For those who are most affected (any planet at 8-10 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, Libra) you may have received a "smoke signal" of what's to come. Mars keywords: enthusiasm, eagerness, energetic, reactive, impulsive, aggressive, competitive, angry, irritated and "hot". Watch for accidents (usually brought about by hasty actions), fevers and situations that demand "act now and think later".

Venus goes retrograde at 4:53 PM (EST), which means we are going to review and re-assess our values, commitments, responsibilities and obligations for the next 40 days; leading to changes that affect relationships and money. Recently major Internet firms met up with President Obama behind closed doors, and this seems to suggest that "something's in the works". Although allegations continue to leak regarding secret spying tactics used by the NSA, which included the bugging of Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel, a federal judge has ruled that domestic phone data-mining to be unconstitutional. So is this meeting with the President and these major Internet firms a coincidence? A recent interview with a Canadian representative hammered home this point by revealing that the means to encrypt information without intruding on our privacy does exist (at time of writing her name eludes me but will provide once found). She went onto say that this process would take time (and money) to implement, which are reasons enough to stall implimenation at the national (NSA, IRS, etc) and public (Google, Facebook, etc) levels. However, privacy high-jacking would be reduced, and our lives less intruded upon by agencies and companies that have no business poking heads where they don't belong. This does not mean to suggest that viruses and hacking will be eliminated, but at least it helps protect our public/digital footprint.

Enter Edward Snowden, who for reasons that do him more harm than good, exiled himself so that he could make us aware of what's really going on. Smear campaigns have attempted to make him look disloyal, and yet the well informed reader knows better. As events continue to unravel, and as the average reader becomes better informed, what we may come to discover is that Edward Snowden did us a favor.

His natal chart lacks the required current planetary energies to suggest hardship and failure, but rather it shows support and a more prosperous period lies ahead. While natal Mercury and Uranus oppose one another (his brilliance with technology), they will be receiving positive support, indicating an outcome that will benefit him. Mars officially enters Libra today, and this signals major issues in coming weeks (and months) concerning relationships (of all kinds). Things get "heated" when Mars is involved, and often things happen fast. The bigger message is having to make room for others, when in fact you want to focus on yourself. Upsets occur when you are unable to find balance between you and another.

Overall this means a great day for many, and for those that are overlooked (due to personal planetary energies) we extend heartfelt sympathies. A nice change of "energy" that lasts until Nov11th

With the exception of the Moon, and only lasting a couple of hours in most cases, the highest degree planet will be Jupiter until October 26th, followed by Venus until November 5th and once again Jupiter until November 11th. This indicates a period when the harmonious energies of these planets will prevail at the end of the day, as opposed to energies that are a lot less friendly. Take heed, they will return, so use this period to your advantage by scheduling and/or attending social activities. Keep in mind personal chart configurations may negate some of these energies, as they could be taking a back seat to more powerful and pressing planets.

The exuberance of Jupiter can make it possible to get carried away, and in the process you can go overboard. What about Edward Snowden?

Edward Snowden was born on June 21 1983 according to the web resource Wikipedia, and this places his Sun at 29 degrees of Gemini. What comes to mind almost at once is the fact that transiting Jupiter just entered his 1^st house (solar houses), where it remains for the next year. This alone suggests that his troubles may not end up being as bad as one might think, considering the situation he currently faces. He has been accused of leaking highly classified surveillance programs as a contractor for the National Security Agency, and at the time of this article he is reported to be in route to Russia. It appears that he also has the support of Wikileaks, an organization with aims of protecting journalistic integrity worldwide.

Gemini is a sign of communication, and language is important to this sign. When this sign is prominent in astrological chart the individual is attracted to high tech gadgets, or as in Edward’s case a high tech career path. He is also reported to have an interest in the Japanese language and culture. With Pisces on the cusp of his career sector, and Neptune as the most elevated planet, he has gravitated to a career that embraces secrecy which Neptune rules. It could also make him quite mysterious and illusive, as slipping out of the country would seem to support.

Aries New Moon April 10th-Visualize Your Future!

Spring has arrived, and with it a burst of renewed energy and enthusiasm! The calendar moves on a different rhythm from that of the planetary one, as this is the cycle that starts the year astrologically. The zodiac starts with the sign of Aries and ends with Pisces, thus Aries marks the beginning. So "beginnings" are what are being emphasized now, and being aware of this now allows you greater control on where your journey takes you.

Vision and visual imagery is an important part of the Aries New Moon and using it allows us to create our goals. Pictures and videos can be used to reinforce our intentions, which we began to set last month by focusing on what we want to attract. Now we can take those ideas and find visual images that reflect what we want to achieve. Similarly the season of Spring is also punctuated with flowers of many colors, and birds and other wildlife going about their business. Life is emerging and the energy is almost palpable, urging us to get out and get moving. This correlations between nature and the planets is no accident, as both respond to the energy of the cosmos.

There is only one cycle this year that emphasizes visual imagery, so take time over the coming month to collect pictures that reflect your intentions and desires. No goal is too ambitious, and remember some goals may manifest earlier than others. Make an effort to collect them and if possible look at them daily. This is called "outer vision" and yet there is also "inner vision", which allows our minds to creatively form ideas and thoughts that can be put into action too. Some may call this daydreaming, while others may call it fantasizing but either way energy sparks the neurons in our brains, setting off endless possibilities.

Finding pictures that represent what you are looking for can then be used along with the statement/intention that you have created. Do this with the things you desire most, and avoid scattering your energies in too many directions, as further work will be required as the year progresses.

Once your image and intention are created plan on viewing it at least once a day, and more so if possible. The more energy that goes into focusing on your intentions the more likely they will manifest. As the year progresses and at each New Moon that follows you will re-connect to the intentions you have set, perhaps tweaking them over time.

Pisces New Moon March 11th

Time to focus on what you want for the coming year!

The Sun rotates through the year in cycles that are commonly associated with calendars that run from January through December; however in astrology these cycles run from the Aries New Moon through the Pisces New Moon. The progression of time marks each season, each very different from the others. This progression of time shifts in planetary terms, allowing a pattern to repeat every nineteen years. This means that the approaching New Moon and those that follow will "echo" issues that you experienced nineteen years ago.

Does this mean we are predestined to repeat the same experience? The answer lies in choice (Free Will) and we have the power to change our course through conscious effort. This does not exclude Divine Will, and what God has in mind may very well be a mystery. However for the sake of this article we are focusing on what we CAN do to change our lives for the better, and one tool that may help are the phases of the Sun and the Moon. Each new cycle starts with a New Moon, which lasts approximately 29 days.

The Pisces New Moon falls under what is called the Balsamic Moon in the annual cycle, and this cycle is about "releasing and letting go" as well as preparing for the year ahead. The Balsamic phase is symbolic of an "incubator" and underneath the surface lies new life forming, waiting to be unleashed at the Aries New Moon (April 10th) and the months thereafter. This concept may require an imaginative mind, but great feats in life always start with a dream,  even against occasional odds. This concept is the basis of many stories that have permeated all cultures throughout time.

So, this means that our "dream" for the year ahead lies in what we do with the next 30 days or so, and it is crucial to know exactly what you want rather than on what you don't want. Another possibility, often chosen, is not doing anything and allowing random to occur. But even this choice reflects the energies we expressed and eventually get back as the year unfolds. This is a cycle for clearly projecting your dreams, perhaps through affirmation and prayer, and when repeated over and over a "signal" is emitted for the Angelic Kingdom to hear. Another way of expressing this is "thoughts are things" and if you find yourself engaged in disputes and quarrels then you are sending that signal to be unleashed throughout the coming year. However by consciously choosing to avoid negative situations and conversations then you are inviting a much different experience, enhanced by focusing your attention on what you actually want.

Another concept associated with this time of year and the Balsamic phase is the idea that God is in charge. For the spiritually inclined this may make a difference, and a little effort now can have huge returns later. Imagine if you can sitting in the presence of God and God asking you what it is you want at this time. Rather than imagine this, have that conversation with spoken words and see what happens. Chances are you will find yourself stumbling upon the right or correct word, because after all, you are talking to God. This is an exercise that will make you keenly aware of your thought patterns, which may not be as clear as you think.

This cycle has the potential to change your entire year ahead. Now it's up to you to do something with it. Here's an affirmation that reflects the intention of this article:
