You live in unprecented times!

If you have been alive since 1984 you have witnessed and participated among the most incredible of all periods (astrologically speaking). To put it simply, there are three outer planets known as Pluto, Neptune and Uranus and these planets impact the global scene in ways that are profound and revolutionizing. Although they exist on a day to day level as planets that we don't consciously connect to, they do in fact create change of the highest magnitude and are often seen in hindsight as obvious in terms of impact. Going back to the last time these planets changed signs (to signs they ruled) we find Pluto and Uranus paving the way for the "discovery" of America in 1736 (Pluto) and 1744 (Uranus) and the impact this had on what would become to be known as the worlds super power, the USA. Pay attention, as these two planets are in a major wrestling match now and for the next few years. Change is coming!!

We are talking about planets that have entered the signs they rule, and due to the slow rate of orbit around the Sun, this means 84 years in the case of Uranus, approximately 164 years for Neptune and 248 years for Pluto. A planet in the sign it rules RULES! and this means that the planet in question is operating from its base of power. Let's not also lose sight of the fact that we are talking about planets that shape the entire planet in terms of evolution.

Pluto entered Scorpio in 1984 and brought us the concept of being "dysfunctional", possibly as a result of our upbringing. Though tempting to blame others for what we perceived to be wrong, what Pluto actually gave us was the gift of being more "self empowered". With this came a deluge of self help books, and coupled with a genuine intent to grow we mastered our demons. This also meant being willing to be "brutally honest"...in the sense that we looked below the surface of things and acknowledged honestly what we felt and thought. This passage of Pluto through Scorpio stripped away "acting properly" (which we were taught) towards acting from the heart, even if it meant treading on delicate territory. We craved (and still do) the opportunity to connect with another from a place of intimacy and trust, and not only from the significant other in our life, but also with our friends and in some cases our children. What parent in today's age wants to necessarily be a parent...in many cases they want to be their friend too. Time will tell if this strategy works.

1995 brought Uranus back to the sign of Aquarius for the first time in 84 years, and with it came the Internet and all newer technologies since. The simple life of the earlier years was replaced with gadgets that we commonly carry around with us all the time, supposedly making our lives easier. What it has done is bring us amazing advances in technology, and hard as it may be to believe, we have only skimmed the surface. In fact you probably can not even imagine the advances yet to come!

And now we have Neptune entering Pisces, and this "caps off" the Age of Pisces in order to make way for the Age of Aquarius. If you consider that an Age lasts almost 2,000 years the amount of time is impressive! The Age of Pisces is generally regarded to have started with the birth of Jesus (and interesting the symbol of the fish represents Pisces too) and this is followed by the Age of Aquarius (which represents technology and humanity in general). When this exactly takes/took place is debated rigorously, however the technology in place today surely reflects this new Age of Aquarius.

So how does this have anything to do with Neptune in Pisces? Consider if you will a 2,000 year span of Pisces energy and the most dominant theme to impact the planet has been the theme of religion and/or spirituality. Personally I think the term "spiritual" came into fashion as a time of recognizing all religions possessing common themes that could be embraced collectively, and probably hints at the Age of Aquarius in terms of "we are all one". But clearly this 2,000 year span was one of being under the thumb of religious teachings, and the power of the Church was clearly evident.

We are now talking about Neptune entering its own sign AFTER the Age of Pisces shifted to Aquarius. What does this mean? It all depends on your REAL sense of being spiritually connected. Pisces (ruled by Neptune) is said to be the sign associated with God (and all angelic beings) and true believers will embrace this passage with glee. After all it is a time to REALLY "let go and let God". In other words, your faith is going to be tested over these next 14 years, and you will either discover validation or disappointment. The former is the result of merging with God, while to latter is the result of "pretending" to be (another Pisces/Neptune issue). This choice usually ends up with feeling disenchanted and asking ourselves "why God are you not listening to me?" The answer is simple of course as God answers back "because you were not listening to me".
